This document sets out the terms and conditions of the product warranties for Unilux Accessories. It is an important document. Please keep it with your proof of purchase documents in a safe place for future reference should there be a manufacturing defect in your Product. This warranty is in addition to other rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law.

  1. In this warranty:

    1. 'ACL' or 'Australian Consumer Law' means Schedule 2 to the Competition and Consumer Act 2010;

    2. 'Product' means any Electrolux spare part and accessory product purchased by you and accompanied by this document;

    3. 'ASPD' means Electrolux's Authorised Spare Parts Distributor;

    4. 'Electrolux' is the brand controlled by Electrolux Home Products Pty Ltd of 163 O'Riordan Street, Mascot NSW 2020, ABN 51 004 762 341 in respect of Products purchased in Australia and Electrolux (NZ) Limited (collectively “Electrolux”) of 3-5 Niall Burgess Road, Mount Wellington, in respect of Products purchased in New Zealand;

    5. 'Warranty Period' means the period specified in clause 3 of this warranty;

    6. 'you' means the purchaser of the Product not having purchased the Product for re-sale, and 'your' has a corresponding meaning.

  2. Application: This warranty only applies to new Products, purchased and used in Australia or New Zealand and is in addition to (and does not exclude, restrict, or modify in any way) other rights and remedies under a law to which the Products or services relate, including any non- excludable statutory guarantees in Australia and New Zealand.

  3. Warranty Period: Subject to these terms and conditions, this warranty continues for a period of 12 months in Australia and New Zealand, following the date of original purchase of the Product.

  4. Repair or replace warranty: During the Warranty Period, Electrolux or its ASPD will, at no extra charge, subject to these terms and conditions, repair or replace any Product or parts which it considers to be defective. Electrolux may, in its absolute discretion, choose whether the remedy offered for a valid warranty claim is repair or replacement. Electrolux or its ASPD may use refurbished parts to repair your Product. You agree that any replaced Products or parts become the property of Electrolux.

  5. Travel and transportation costs: Subject to clause 7, Electrolux will bear the reasonable cost of transportation, travel and delivery of the Product to and from Electrolux or its ASPD. Travel and transportation will be arranged by Electrolux as part of any valid warranty claim.

  6. Proof of purchase is required before you can make a claim under this warranty.

  7. Exclusions: You may not make a claim under this warranty unless the defect claimed is due to faulty or defective parts or workmanship. This warranty does not cover:

    1. light globes, batteries, filters or similar perishable parts;

    2. parts and Products not supplied by Electrolux;

    3. cosmetic damage which does not affect the operation of the Product;

    4. damage to the Product caused by:

      1. negligence or accident;

      2. misuse or abuse, including failure to properly maintain or service;

      3. improper, negligent or faulty servicing or repair works done by anyone other than an Electrolux authorised repairer or ASPD;

      4. normal wear and tear;

      5. power surges, electrical storm damage or incorrect power supply;

      6. incomplete or improper installation;

      7. incorrect, improper or inappropriate operation;

      8. insect or vermin infestation;

      9. failure to comply with any additional instructions supplied with the Product;

    In addition, Electrolux is not liable under this warranty if:

    1. the Product has been, or Electrolux reasonably believes that the Product has been, used for purposes other than those for which the Product was intended, including where the Product has been used for any non-domestic purpose;

    2. the Product is modified without authority from Electrolux in writing;

    3. the Product's serial number or warranty seal has been removed or defaced.

  8. How to claim under this warranty: To enquire about claiming under this warranty, please follow these steps:

    1. carefully check the operating instructions, user manual and the terms of this warranty;

    2. have the model and serial number of the Product available;

    3. have the proof of purchase (e.g. an invoice) available;

    4. telephone the numbers shown below.

  9. Australia: For Products and services provided by Electrolux in Australia: Electrolux goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the Product repaired or replaced if the Product fails to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. 'Acceptable quality' and 'major failure' have the same meaning as referred to in the ACL.

  10. New Zealand: For Products and services provided by Electrolux in New Zealand, the Products come with a guarantee by Electrolux pursuant to the provisions of the Consumer Guarantees Act, the Sale of Goods Act and the Fair Trading Act. Where the Product was purchased in New Zealand for commercial purposes the Consumer Guarantee Act does not apply.

  11. Confidentiality: You accept that if you make a warranty claim, Electrolux and its agents including ASPD may exchange information in relation to you to enable Electrolux to meet its obligations under this warranty.

  1. The purpose of this privacy policy

    This Privacy Policy is issued by Electrolux Home Products Pty Limited, (ABN 51 004 762 341) and its related companies ("Electrolux").

    Electrolux is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use and disclose personal information provided to us in accordance with the Commonwealth Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles . This Privacy Policy should be read in conjunction with the Electrolux Terms and Conditions.

    Electrolux reserves the right to amend this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by publishing the updated Privacy Policy on our Site at www.uniluxaccessories.com

  2. What information we collect

    Generally, the personal information we collect and store consists of your name, address (including email address) and contact details (which may include home, business and mobile phone numbers). It is possible that where a specific product or service is involved, we may collect personal information from you that relates to that particular product, service or warranty repair.

    The information that we collect from you when you interact with us online depends on the tasks you complete on the Site. From time to time, you may be able to interact with us anonymously or by pseudonym. However, if you choose not to provide us with certain personal information, we are unlikely to be able to provide you with the products or services that you want or to respond to your inquiry.

    1. Browsing this website

      When you visit and browse through this Site, we collect data for statistical and maintenance purposes that enables us to evaluate the performance of this Site. Such general information includes:

      • the number of users visiting this Site and the number of pages viewed
      • the date, time and duration of visits; and
      • the path taken through this Site

      This information will not identify you and we will not combine it with any information in a manner whereby we can identify you.

    2. Applying for a product or service, requesting information online or using “contact us”

      We need to obtain personal information from you in order to complete your online application for product or service information. When completing Product Registration or requesting other product or service information or when using contact us you will need to complete an online form on this Site. Our online forms will ask you to provide personal information for contact purposes, for example, your name, own address, e-mail address, telephone number (which may include home, business or mobile numbers) and purchase information. You will have the right to choose whether or not to provide additional personal information.

    3. E-mails

      You can contact us by e-mail via the link on this Site. You have the choice whether or not to provide personal information other than your name and e-mail address.

    Electrolux collects personal information in a number of ways, including:

    Any information which is not capable of identifying you, such as the number of users visiting this Site, is collected through code embedded in the pages of this Site. You are unable to disable the code on these pages.

    Other information, such as browser type, is included in a "cookie". Cookies are pieces of information that a website can transfer to an individual's computer hard drive for record keeping.   5. How your personal information is stored

    Electrolux takes great care to protect your privacy. Any information provided to us on this Site is protected using Secure Sockets Layer protocols.

    Where we transfer information from our servers to our mainframe computers, we use all reasonable endeavoursto ensure that this is done securely Access to our mainframe computers is protected by firewall security systems where required, relative to the risk of the information stored. In addition, this Site carries an Internet Detection System to monitor potential privacy and security threats.

    Any information stored in documents or on Electrolux systems is protected from unauthorised access by the use of a number of security procedures including user passwords.

    Please be aware that the transmission of data over the internet is never completely secure, and while we aim to use our best efforts to secure and protect the information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information that is provided or transmitted to us by you. Any such provision of information is at your own risk.

  6. When we disclose your personal information

    Electrolux may disclose your personal information to organisations outside of Electrolux. These disclosures are made subject to suitable protection for privacy and confidentiality being in place. The organisations to which we would usually disclose your information include:

    • third party organisations who have been retained by Electrolux to assist us in providing services to you including delivery, installation, maintenance and repair;
    • suppliers, agents and other third parties with whom we have commercial relationships, for business, marketing and related purposes;
    • market research, marketing and/or telemarketing service providers;
    • our professional advisers, for example, our auditors and lawyers, as well as our insurers;
    • government, regulatory or other organisations to whom we are required to disclose your personal information by law; and
    • our related companies and product partners where we have received a product complaint or claim, for example, to our contract manufacturers, logistic service providers or other third parties in the supply chain, who may be located overseas, depending on where the relevant product or part was manufactured.

    We may disclose your personal information to overseas members of the Electrolux group of companies, who may communicate with you about our products or special offers.

    We may disclose your information to a purchaser or successor entity in connection with the sale of Electrolux or a related body corporate, or a business unit owned by Electrolux or a related body corporate, or the sale of substantially all of the assets of Electrolux or a related body corporate.

  7. Accessing and correcting your personal information

    Electrolux takes reasonable steps to ensure that any personal information we collect, disclose and use is as up to date as possible. However, it is important that you advise us of any changes to your personal information or if there are any errors in the personal information we hold about you.

    Subject to certain exceptions allowed by law, everyone who has provided personal information has the right to access that personal information. For security reasons you will be required to put any request for access to your personal information into writing. You may obtain access to your own personal information by contacting us via the contact us page or at the address below. Electrolux may charge you a $25 fee for the retrieval of your personal information in order to cover our reasonable administration costs. You should also contact us if you wish to correct any of your personal information.

  8. How you may make a privacy-related complaint

    If you have any concerns about our handling or treatment of your personal information or if you believe that your privacy has been breached, please contact us by writing to our Privacy Manager at the address below setting out the nature of your complaint.

    We will investigate your complaint and endeavour to provide you with our response within a reasonable time of receiving your complaint. If after receiving our response, you still consider that your privacy complaint has not been resolved, you may refer your complaint to the Australian Privacy Commissioner at http://www.oaic.gov.au/.

Exclusive Remedy

If Electrolux does not comply with its undertakings under this Agreement, it shall either correct the non-compliance or, at its option, terminate this Agreement by prior notice, posted on this web site, to you. To the maximum extent permitted by law, this clause expresses your sole and exclusive remedy in relation to non-compliance by Electrolux.


Subject to the terms and conditions set forth in this Agreement, Electrolux grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited right to access, use and display this Site and the materials thereon. You agree not to interrupt or attempt to interrupt the operation of the Site in any way.

Electrolux authorises you to view and download the information ("Materials") at Site only for your personal, non-commercial use. Whole agreement and severability

This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between Electrolux and you with respect to your use of the Site. Any cause of action you may have with respect to your use of the Site must be commenced within one (1) year after the claim or cause of action arises. If for any reason a court of competent jurisdiction finds any provision of the Agreement or portion thereof, to be unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible so as to affect the intent of the Agreement, and the remainder of this Agreement shall continue in full force and effect.

Third Party rights

Except as expressly provided in this Agreement, a person who is not a party to this Agreement may not enforce any of its terms.

User Accounts

You might be required to open an account to be able to access certain restricted parts of the Site. In such event you must complete the registration process by providing us with complete and accurate information as stated in the applicable registration form. You will also be required to choose a password and a user name. You are entirely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your password and account. Furthermore, you are entirely responsible for any and all activities that occur under said account. You agree to notify Electrolux immediately of any unauthorized use of your account or any other breach of security. Electrolux will not be liable for any loss that you may incur as a result of someone else using your password or account.

User Warranties

You represent and warrant that you will use the Site in compliance with this Agreement including the laws and provisions under this Agreement and to comply with all existing and future Site policies and rules. You agree that you will not use the Site to: (a) transmit spam or unsolicited communications; (b) pretend to be Electrolux or someone else; (c) forge headers or otherwise manipulate identifiers in order to disguise the origin of any content transmitted through the Site; (d) misrepresent your affiliation with a person or entity; (e) act in a manner that negatively affects other users' ability to use the Site; (f) engage in activities that would violate any applicable law, (g) post or transmit any material which violates or infringes in any way upon the rights of others or which is unlawful, abusive, defamatory, vulgar or otherwise objectionable or which contains any advertising or solicitation with respect to products or services or (h) collect or store personal data about other users unless specifically authorized by such users. If you do not comply with the aforesaid, you may not use the Site, Electrolux shall not be legally bound by this Agreement, and reserves all its legal rights in relation to such non-compliance.

You further agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Electrolux, its affiliates and their respective officers, directors and agents from and against all claims and expenses, including attorney fees, arising out of the use of this Site.

If you violate the Terms of use, you are liable to pay compensation for damages caused to ELECTROLUX and its affiliates as a consequence of your actions.


Electrolux reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to change, modify, add or remove any portion of this Agreement in whole or in part, at any time. Changes in this Agreement will be effective when notice of such change is posted on the Site. Your continued use of the Site after any change to this Agreement are posted will be considered acceptance of those changes.

Electrolux may terminate, change, correct any errors or omissions in any portion of the Site, make any other changes to the Site, the materials and the products, programs, services or prices (if any) described in the Site, suspend or discontinue any aspect of the Site, including the availability of any features of the Site, at any time without notice. Electrolux may also impose limits on certain features and services or restrict your access to parts or the entire Site without notice or liability. Electrolux may terminate the authorization, rights and license given above at any time and, upon such termination, you shall immediately destroy all Materials.

Acknowledgement of intellectual property rights

You acknowledge that all intellectual property rights (including, but not limited to, copyright, patents, know-how, confidential information, database rights, and rights in trademarks and designs, whether registered or unregistered) in the Site are vested in Electrolux or its licensors. All goodwill and intellectual property rights arising through the use of such intellectual property rights vested in Electrolux shall inure to Electrolux.

Information provided by you

The Privacy Statement associated with this Site protects any personally identifiable information you may provide to Electrolux via this Site. However, you should not send any confidential or proprietary information to Electrolux via the Site. You agree that any information or materials that you or individuals acting on your behalf provide to Electrolux will not be considered confidential or proprietary. By providing any such information or materials to Electrolux, you fully assign and transfer to Electrolux all intellectual property rights in and to such information and materials and Electrolux is thereby free to use, reproduce, display, publicly perform, transmit, distribute, modify assign, and license such information and materials, and you further agree that Electrolux is free to use any ideas, concepts or know-how that you or individuals acting on your behalf provide to Electrolux. You further warrant that you shall not provide any information or materials to Electrolux that is defamatory, threatening, obscene, harassing, or otherwise unlawful under whatever applicable law, or that incorporates the proprietary material of another.
